CHAINSAW HORROR
Let's face it, whether its Leatherface
from the movie "Texas Chainsaw Massacre", Jason Voorhees from
the "Friday the Thirteenth" movies, or some other psychopath, there are few things scarier
than some crazed homicidal maniac chasing you with a roaring chainsaw,
particularly on Halloween night. Complete Leatherface costumes,
masks and chainsaw are all available at many Halloween stores both
on-line and off this year at great prices and they look very
realistic!
The fact is, commercial haunted attractions have been using modified
chainsaw's as props to terrorize their patrons for years.
For the home haunter, adding a
scareactor with a
menacing mask, costume and armed with a running chainsaw can really put the
fear into your visitors.
For those not wanting to use a modified,
real chainsaw, there are several prop chainsaws
available during the Halloween season, all with built-in sound effects. Caution should always be used
when using any prop that could potentially injure someone. Never touch
or get too close to your victims. This is a "written in stone" rule at
all professional haunts.
Classic Horror - Psycho Saw
Possibly the first simulated chainsaw designed specifically for Halloween, this plastic chainsaw replica
has metalic looking blades and a red motor body and includes a realistic
sound effect feature simulating a chainsaw.
It is battery operated. This prop retails for around $20.00
and is available from
Halloween Only.
Leatherface Chainsaw Officially licensed from the movie, The Texas Chainsaw Massacre, this
blow-molded plastic chainsaw includes sawing and screaming
sound effects. It even has fake blood splattered on the blade. Measures
twenty-seven inches
long. Retails for $16.99
Classic Horror - Psycho Saw
Possibly the first fake chainsaw designed for Halloween, this plastic chainsaw replica
has a orange body includes a realistic noise feature. Retails for around $15.00
Bloody Black Chain Saw
Basically the same as the Classic Horror Psycho Saw, this version has a
black body and blood splattered on the chain. Includes a realistic noise feature. Retails for around $15.00
The Real Thing
Commercial haunted attractions have been using modified chainsaw's to
terrorize their patrons for years.
They take several steps to made the effect as safe as possible,
including the removal of the chain from the chainsaw and replacing the
metal blade (guide) with a wooden or plastic one.
