DECORATING YOUR CAR FOR HALLOWEEN

car1-1.jpg (15121 bytes)How many times during the Christmas season have you seen cars driving around town with wreathes hanging from their grills or little Santa's sticking from the top of there antenna's? And how many times have you said to yourself, "I should have done something like that to my car at Halloween!" Below are a few ideas to get you started on decorating your car for Halloween. Use common sense and think safety first.

car1-2.jpg (13917 bytes)License plate frames are a great way to express how much you love Halloween. We came up with a few ideas for our engravings, but you can have these frames read just about anything you want that will fit on there plaques. "I believe in the Great Pumpkin", "Happy Halloween", "This car stops at pumpkin patches", or even the address of your web site would all make great slogans.

Usually all you will need is a wrench or socket set to remove your current license plate frame and replace it with the new, custom one. And if you live in a state requires both a front and rear license plate, you can show-off your custom frames coming and going. The "Tag It" Custom Engraved ID company is a fast and easy way to order your customized license plate frames over the Internet.

car1-4.jpg (15014 bytes)Decorating the grill on your car is fun and really sticks out during the Halloween season. During this time of the year you can find many ornaments suitable to act as grill decorations for your Halloween hauntmobile. In this example we used a common plastic pumpkin you can find just about anywhere. First we replaced the flashing bulb that came in it, with a non-flashing bulb. Flashing lights on your car would probably be illegal and possibly dangerous.

car1-5.jpg (16749 bytes)Next we carefully drilled two holes into the back of the ornament and slipped a piece of bailing wire (you could also use picture hanging wire) into one hole, through the body of the ornament and out the other hole. The wire is used to secure the ornament to the grill of the vehicle. Remember that the ornament must be very secure to endure the vibration and bumps while the vehicle is in motion. So, make sure it is very securely attached before driving.

car1-6.jpg (15276 bytes)Decorating the radio antenna on your vehicle is a staple for holiday fun. A small pumpkin, skull, ghost or other ornament works great and really sticks out. You can attach the ornament by hot-gluing it to the antenna, but make sure that you do it in a way that it can be removed. Remember, the faster a car goes the more wind resistance the decoration will have to endure, so keep antenna decorations small. We try not to put anything larger than a ping-pong ball on the antenna.

Fuzzy Dice?
No way, here at Halloween Online we like to hang a string of fake garlic, rubber bats, pairs of skulls or small pumpkins from the rear-view mirror in all our vehicles! Just make sure that the decoration is not so large as to obscure your vision through the wind-shield or can become an obstacle to your driving.
